Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Roll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Da Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drowning Pool - Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor) . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anderson Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Roll tenderised Da Silva's leg. Da Silva is trying to keep his angry face on.
Roll throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Da Silva sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Brendan Roll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da Silva ducks under a wild hook from Roll.
Roll swings widly with a right hand

and Da Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Roll fights it but they end up in guard.
Roll wants to sweep here but Da Silva controlling him for the moment.
Da Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Roll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Da Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Roll's guard.
Da Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roll does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Da Silva looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Da Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Roll sees it coming and defends easily.

Da Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Da Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Roll's head.
Roll keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Da Silva is looking to take a break and control but Roll is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Da Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roll doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Da Silva.

Da Silva is looking to advance position but Roll won't allow it.
Da Silva thows a huge punch but Roll dodges it nicely.
Da Silva works his foot free and advances to mount.

Da Silva moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Roll has worked his arm free - good work by Roll!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Da Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Roll gets back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Da Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Roll is trying to control but can't.
Da Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Da Silva is working for a kimura but Roll is defending it quite comfortably.

Da Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Roll manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Roll stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roll wants it to stay on the feet.

Da Silva's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Roll throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Roll uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Da Silva closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Roll quickly recovers to half guard.

Da Silva seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Roll is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
