The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salaam goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Damien Melendez has been cut.
Melendez shoots and misses
and Salaam counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Melendez off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Salaam follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Melendez was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Geiger Salaam!
A relieved looking Geiger Salaam thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
