Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Middleton tries to clinch up.
Middleton tries to clinch but Santana is having none of it.
Middleton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Santana.

Santana tries to bum rush Middleton with a series of wild strikes but Middleton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Middleton thows a body kick. Santana tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Santana tries to close the distance and clinch up but Middleton swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Santana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Middleton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Santana somewhat.

and Middleton counters by clinching up.

Middleton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santana looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Middleton counters with a nice body shot.
Swags Middleton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruben Santana.
Santana changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Middleton tries to avoid it but Santana manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Middleton to the ground. Middleton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Santana enables Middleton to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Santana manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Santana wants to sweep but no luck.

Middleton throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Santana's head.

Middleton scores with a sloppy right hand. Santana should have avoided that one.
Santana moves in looking to clinch but Middleton pushes him off.
