Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chancho Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cks ss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Method Man- I came to bring the pain . Chancho Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but ss swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A clash of legs there as ss blocks the low kick.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has ss pinned against the cage. ss gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith takes a swing at ss's ribcage but misses.
Smith wants to clinch.

ss has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.

Smith has ss pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Smith pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending ss tumbling to the mat - Smith dives into ss's guard.

ss is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Smith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chancho Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, ss creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

ss tightens his grip and picks Smith up, before dumping him to the ground. Smith manages to land in guard.

ss stands up from Smith's guard - ss perhaps looking for a knockout.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from.

Smith working for a triangle but ss defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
ss wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith has his foot on ss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. ss works his way back into a safe position though.

ss gets to his feet - Smith follows without any prompting.
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
ss slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith avoids the head kick by ss.
ss looks gassed!
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for ss on that attempt.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!

ss is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?

ss defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Smith.

Smith looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
ss really wants to buck Smith off and get back to his feet.
ss seems to have recovered his senses.
Smith landing strikes, looking to finish!

Smith looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
ss in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
ss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith is going oldschool here, as he tries to force ss to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so ss shrugs it off.
Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
ss wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith lands a heavy elbow.
ss is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Smith has control of ss's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and ss regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Chancho Smith dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by ss which made him look bad.

Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. ss did well to prevent Smith getting side control.

Chancho Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
ss shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Smith forces ss back against the cage and clinches.
Smith gets underhooks to prevent ss's takedown attempt.

Smith throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

ss is sitting in close to Smith's body. Smith has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! ss is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, ss is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Smith.
