The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hobbs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Akebono's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Akebono looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hobbs is keen to just control but Akebono is a slippery customer.
Hobbs passes to side control.
Akebono is not content to let Hobbs control the position.

Hobbs has hold of Akebono's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Akebono seems comfortable defending it but Hobbs has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Akebono is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Akebono is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hobbs couldn't care less - he's delighted!
