The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beavis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beavis throws a sloppy head kick and Marella moves out of range easily.
Beavis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Beavis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marella pinned against the cage. Marella gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Beavis stuffs the takedown.

Marella bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Beavis is letting Marella control him for a moment.

Marella stands up and beckons Beavis to his feet.

and Marella counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Marella.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Beavis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Beavis strikes from the bottom but Marella uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Marella wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Beavis, who protects the arm well.
Beavis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Marella off and has taken his back!
Marella trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Beavis controlling well, preventing Marella from escaping the position.

Marella rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Beavis prevents Marella from improving his position.
Beavis wants to control but Marella is keeping him busy.

Beavis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marella keeps working.

Marella is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Beavis has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Marella has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Beavis taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Marella doesn't care though - he's delighted!
