And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearns tries to clinch up.
Plexico pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Hearns misses.
Nice cross by Hearns.
Plexico throws a leg kick but Hearns sees it coming and checks it nicely.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hearns crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Plexico - the referee stops the clock and Hearns gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Plexico. Hearns manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hearns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Plexico paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hearns moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hearns loads up on a big right hand but Plexico slips the punch.
Hearns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Plexico.

enabling Hearns to counter with a crisp jab.

Hearns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Plexico manages to avoid it.

Hearns throws a leg kick but Plexico sees it coming and moves out of range.

Hagler Hearns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Plexico lands with a thumping leg kick.
Plexico swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hearns. Plexico does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hearns takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hearns looks to land a left hand but Plexico moved out of range nicely.

Hearns turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Plexico misses with a hook. Hearns ducked under it nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hearns. Plexico does a little dance to reset his feet.
A slow jab from Plexico misses its intended target.
Hearns on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Plexico keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hearns throws a hook but Plexico avoids it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Hearns. Those never looked like landing.
Hearns moves out of range of the body kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Plexico.
Hearns fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Plexico fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hearns checks it well.

Plexico thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hearns if he has to take too many more of those.
Plexico throws a head kick that Hearns semi-blocks.

It looks like Hagler Hearns has been cut.
Plexico throws a solid leg kick but Hearns takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Plexico.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nice uppercut lands for Hearns. That snapped Plexico's head back.
Plexico throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Plexico dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hearns. That did some damage!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Plexico dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hearns throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Plexico counters with a huge head kick that drops Hearns! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!
