The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayakawa tries to clinch up.

and Lombardi counters with a solid body kick.
Lombardi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hayakawa gets tackled into the cage by Lombardi. Lombardi maintains the clinch.
Lombardi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hayakawa is trying to force a seperation but Lombardi has the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Yahiro Hayakawa was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Lombardi counters by clinching up.
Sasmuki Lombardi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yahiro Hayakawa.

Lombardi has hold of one of Hayakawa's legs. Hayakawa is fighting the takedown attempt but Lombardi gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Lombardi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hayakawa's guard.

Lombardi escapes and gets back to his feet.

Hayakawa looks for a takedown but Lombardi sprawls well.

and Lombardi counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hayakawa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hayakawa is refusing to be controlled, as Lombardi sits in half guard.
Hayakawa is trying to control but can't.

Hayakawa has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Lombardi. Oh but Hayakawa has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Lombardi goes limp - he's gone! Hayakawa jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
