Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anthony Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erick Noble!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Noble throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kidd tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Noble is in Kidd's guard.
Kidd preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Noble controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kidd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Noble on the ground.
Kidd wants to stand up but Noble is controlling him.

Noble decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Erick Noble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kidd misses with a two punch combination.

Noble gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Noble decides to stand back up.

Noble feints and as Kidd raises his hands in defense, Noble changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Noble throwing strikes but missing.
Noble controlling from the top position.
Noble stops Kidd from standing up.
Noble is in close to Kidd's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Noble controls from within his opponent's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Erick Noble was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Noble drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kidd can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Noble controls the pace.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Noble prevents Kidd from getting back to his feet.
Noble stays in close to Kidd's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Erick Noble hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Noble decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Noble content to control rather than advance.
It looks like Noble might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kidd is looking to escape.
Noble content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Erick Noble.

Noble rushes Kidd and presses him up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Noble has clasped his hands together around Kidd's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kidd pushes Noble away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Noble gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Noble gets a double leg takedown into Kidd's guard.
Noble controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Noble advances position into side control!

Noble decides to stand back up. Noble steps back and let's Kidd get back to his feet.

Kidd misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kidd moves out of range as Noble throws a body kick.

Noble closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kidd to the mat! Kidd manages to get full guard.
Noble scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Noble stands up over Kidd, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Noble showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Noble stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kidd gets caught flat footed, as Noble shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Noble is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Erick Noble was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Noble avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kidd gets caught napping as Noble dives in and scores a takedown. Kidd manages to retain guard.

Noble decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kidd, up you get!

Noble takes the fight into the clinch.

Kidd is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Noble to keep the fight standing.

Noble gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Noble slows the pace down in half guard.
Noble missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Erick Noble showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Noble gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Noble throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Noble just leaning against Kidd, taking a breather.

Noble manages to break the clinch.

Noble looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kidd!
Noble controlling the pace for now.
Noble looking to finish Kidd with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kidd!

Noble looking to control and managing it successfully.

Noble is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Noble darts in and clinches Kidd up against the cage.

Noble jumps into guard, dragging Kidd to the mat.
Noble lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kidd!

Noble fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Noble content just to control the position here.
Kidd is trying to stand but he's just given Noble his back.
Anthony Kidd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kidd is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Noble gets his way!

Noble is punishing Kidd with strikes - can he finish him?!
Noble trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kidd doesn't escape.

Noble is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kidd has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Noble controls the action.

Noble lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Noble lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Kidd hold on?!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Noble has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kidd's body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Erick Noble comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Noble has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
