Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Georgi Todorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Pikkarainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pikkarainen's choice of entrance music: Apocalyptica - Path. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pekka Pikkarainen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Georgi Todorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Pikkarainen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pikkarainen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Todorov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Todorov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Nice defenses there by Todorov.
A big right from Todorov misses.
Pikkarainen misses with a looping right.
Pikkarainen connects with a body shot that sends Todorov's belly button to the back.
Todorov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pikkarainen.
Todorov misses with a jab, cross combination.

Pikkarainen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Todorov.
Pikkarainen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pikkarainen wants it to stay on the feet.
Pikkarainen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Todorov circles away quickly and effectively.
Todorov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pikkarainen moves away.
Pikkarainen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Todorov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Pikkarainen is out of range.

Pikkarainen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Todorov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Todorov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pikkarainen sprawls well initially but Todorov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Pikkarainen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Todorov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Todorov's back!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pikkarainen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Georgi Todorov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Todorov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Todorov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pikkarainen down.
Pikkarainen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Pikkarainen is looking to take a break and control but Todorov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pikkarainen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Todorov is looking for a sweep. Pikkarainen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pikkarainen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Todorov's waist but Todorov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pikkarainen off to one side.

Pikkarainen throws a combination. Todorov tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Todorov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pikkarainen's guard.

Pikkarainen has his foot on Todorov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Todorov works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Georgi Todorov will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Georgi Todorov!
A very excited looking Georgi Todorov rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
