Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Louzon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaspars Daugavins!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daugavins throws a series of punches but Louzon avoids them all with ease.
Louzon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Louzon drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Joe Louzon has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Daugavins. Those never looked like landing.
Louzon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Joe Louzon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daugavins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Louzon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Daugavins throws a right and a left that Louzon avoids nicely.
Daugavins misses with a double jab.
Louzon misses with a hook. Daugavins ducked under it nicely.
Daugavins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Louzon connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Daugavins scrambles back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Daugavins throws a series of punches but Louzon avoids them all with ease.
Louzon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Daugavins misses with a jab, cross combination.

Louzon connects with a crisp jab.
Louzon dodges the punch combination from Daugavins.

Daugavins throws a nice looking combination but Louzon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Louzon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Daugavins fails to land with a series of punches.
Louzon misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Daugavins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Louzon jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Louzon feints and as Daugavins raises his hands in defense, Louzon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Louzon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Louzon slips nicely into half guard.
Louzon working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Daugavins's thigh. Daugavins counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Louzon postures up.

Louzon passes Daugavins's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Louzon is stalling here. Daugavins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Louzon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Daugavins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Daugavins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Daugavins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Daugavins swings around for an armbar but Louzon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Daugavins's guard.

Louzon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Louzon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Daugavins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Daugavins has escaped and now he's on top!
Daugavins wants to stand and escape but instead Louzon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Louzon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Daugavins is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Louzon, into his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Daugavins wants to control from the top but Louzon keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Louzon will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Joe Louzon's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Daugavins throws a right and a left that Louzon avoids nicely.
Louzon throws out a loose jab but Daugavins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Louzon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Nice shot lands for Louzon.
Daugavins misses with a head kick.
Louzon lands a nice shot that snaps Daugavins's head back.
Louzon jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Louzon misses with a looping left.
Louzon lands with a right hand.
Daugavins tries to bum rush Louzon with a series of wild strikes but Louzon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Louzon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Joe Louzon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Daugavins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Daugavins moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Louzon lands a left and a right that sends Daugavins crashing to the canvas! Louzon dives into mount looking to finish!


Daugavins is rocked!


It looks like Kaspars Daugavins has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Louzon is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Daugavins is still on wobbly legs! Can Louzon finish him?
Louzon is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Louzon blocks a head kick by Daugavins.
Louzon closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Daugavins! Louzon dives in looking to finish! Daugavins is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Louzon!
An intense looking Joe Louzon took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Dave Smith, watch your back, that title is mine, and your gonna get wrecked...'.
