Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor McCallum!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCallum moves into the clinch successfully.
McCallum wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
McCallum landing some nice looking knees to the body.
McCallum slowing the pace effectively.
Mooney lands on the inside with an uppercut.
McCallum trying to land knees to the body.
McCallum is trying to drag Mooney to the mat but Mooney just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

McCallum has clasped his hands together around Mooney's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McCallum is looking to take a break and control but Mooney is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McCallum is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mooney is surviving well by controlling McCallum's body position as best he can.
Poor strikes thrown by McCallum there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

McCallum jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mooney manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Mooney tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McCallum wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McCallum wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mooney, who protects the arm well.

McCallum is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mooney knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mooney tries to bench press McCallum off him but McCallum keeps the position.

McCallum misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Mooney prevents McCallum from moving into mount.

McCallum swings around for an armbar but Mooney sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McCallum's guard.
McCallum is looking to stand up but Mooney isn't so interested in that idea.
McCallum seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
McCallum utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mooney trying to control the position from guard on top but McCallum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mooney throws a big right hand that misses.

Mooney stands up from McCallum's guard - Mooney perhaps looking for a knockout.

McCallum tries to clinch up.
Mooney dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McCallum fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mooney on the side of the head.


It looks like Paul Mooney has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mooney defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCallum.
McCallum misses with a body shot.
Good work by Mooney as he checks the leg kick.
McCallum walks into a straight right hand from Mooney.


It looks like Conor McCallum has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mooney throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McCallum sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and McCallum counters with a good low kick that Mooney was not able to check.
McCallum scores with a jab. Mooney acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
McCallum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McCallum throws a body punch but Mooney moves out of range.
McCallum ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mooney moves away.

McCallum scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mooney wants to improve his position but McCallum is controlling well.
McCallum seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McCallum tries to pass to full mount but Mooney defends it.

McCallum throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McCallum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McCallum cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McCallum swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mooney is now in McCallum's guard. A big mistake from McCallum there, giving up the dominant position!

McCallum keeping moving, preventing Mooney from controlling successfully.

McCallum uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mooney.

McCallum throws a combination. Mooney tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


Jeez, Paul Mooney's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paul Mooney's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
