Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hazni Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordechai Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mordechai Marx!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali throws a combination that misses
and Marx counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Ali closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marx did well to prevent Ali getting side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Marx unloads with some shots from mount but Ali bucks and avoids them well.
Marx wants to take Ali's back here but Ali is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Marx moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ali has worked his arm free - good work by Ali!
Marx trying to control the position but Ali is working away.
Marx might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ali kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Marx thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Marx is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ali has escaped the position, nice work there.
Marx tries to move to mount but Ali blocks the move with his legs.

Marx decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ali throws a nice looking combination but Marx bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marx is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ali rolls with it to try and escape but Marx cranks on the arm and Ali is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
