The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a push kick but Pereira slaps the foot to one side.
Pereira misses with a few strikes there.
Pereira tries to clinch up.

Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Pereira is trying to stand.
Pereira is trying to maintain the position but Silva is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pereira is trying to get back to full guard.
Silva is taking a breather. Pereira says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pereira is in trouble now - Silva has advanced to mount!
Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Silva is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pereira has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pereira!

Silva is looking for a triangle but Pereira pushes his legs off easily.
Silva is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Pereira is proving a slippery customer.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva pulls Pereira in close to his closed guard and prevents Pereira from doing any damage or advancing position.

Manny Silva has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pereira sprawls well. Pereira wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Pereira is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Silva's half guard.
