Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Roberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Grimly Fiendish!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roberts is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fiendish's half guard.
Fiendish is trying to maintain the position but Roberts is very close to passing his half guard.
Roberts thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Roberts thows a huge punch but Fiendish dodges it nicely.
Fiendish is looking for a sweep. Roberts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fiendish fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Roberts sprawls well initially but Fiendish persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Roberts is really struggling to control Fiendish but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Fiendish lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fiendish is looking to work some ground and pound but Roberts has wrist control.

Roberts is pressing down on Fiendish's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fiendish must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roberts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fiendish doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fiendish manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Roberts bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fiendish's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roberts throws an elbow that misses. Fiendish uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roberts's guard. Nice move by Fiendish!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roberts is on top in guard.
Roberts wants to pass the guard but Fiendish is keeping the position.

Fiendish keeping moving, preventing Roberts from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fiendish has his hands on Roberts's head, controlling the position.
Roberts throws a strike but Fiendish rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jake Roberts will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Roberts jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Grimly Fiendish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fiendish gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Roberts goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fiendish prevents it.

Fiendish has Roberts pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roberts manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fiendish is trying to drag Roberts to the mat but Roberts just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Roberts drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fiendish gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Roberts. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roberts has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Fiendish clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Fiendish manages to reverse the position and now he's in Roberts's guard. Nice work there by Fiendish.

Fiendish postures up in Roberts's guard and throws a big left but Roberts blocks it.

Roberts has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fiendish is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Roberts.

Fiendish working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fiendish misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Roberts wants to get back to his feet but Fiendish drags him back down.
Fiendish scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Roberts to see if he's OK.

Oh Roberts is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fiendish lands a strong strike to the head of Roberts. That's dazed him! Fiendish looking to finish here. Roberts is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Fiendish lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Grimly Fiendish!
