The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Connor throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Everdeen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
O Connor looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Everdeen with a jab.

It looks like Pat O Connor has been cut.
O Connor shoots in but Everdeen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Everdeen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by O Connor.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
O Connor lands a hook to the side of the head.
Everdeen lands a left hand that snaps the head of O Connor backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O Connor has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Everdeen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

O Connor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Everdeen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of O Connor.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Everdeen can do anything to dispel that myth.
