PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oompa Loompa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ku Pol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pol is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by All of the lights . Ku Pol told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ku Pol!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loompa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Loompa lands a high kick!
Loompa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pol misses with a series of wild punches.
Loompa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Loompa, right into the meat.
Pol on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Pol closes the distance and clinches.
Loompa blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Loompa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Loompa connects with a solid leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pol has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Loompa.
Ku Pol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Loompa. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Loompa.
Loompa lands a head shot.

Pol tries to clinch there but Loompa circles away.
Loompa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Loompa works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Pol closes the distance but Loompa moves to the side
and Loompa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Loompa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pol pinned against the cage. Pol gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pol tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Loompa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Loompa swats away the attempt to clinch by Pol.
Loompa connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Loompa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Loompa's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Loompa duly obliges.

It looks like Ku Pol has been cut.
Pol darts in trying to clinch
and Loompa counters with a good low kick that Pol was not able to check.
Pol tries to clinch up
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Loompa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Loompa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Loompa, right into the meat.

and Loompa makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Pol takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Pol fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pol tries to clinch up but Loompa circles away and keeps his distance.
Loompa lands with a thumping leg kick.
Loompa lands a nice looking body kick.
Pol is looking to clinch but Loompa is avoiding it.
Ku Pol is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Loompa swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pol has closed the distance and engaged Loompa in a clinch.
Loompa lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pol backwards.
Pol's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Pol swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pol doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A hook to the body from Pol.
Pol misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A short right from Pol on the inside.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Pol.
Loompa tries to throw a body punch but Pol avoids it by throwing Loompa back against the cage.
Loompa lands with a light punch inside.
Pol lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Loompa backwards.
Loompa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pol is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oompa Loompa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pol lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Pol blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pol misses with a punch on the inside.
Loompa fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pol misses with some punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Loompa tries to throw a body punch but Pol avoids it by throwing Loompa back against the cage.

Pol fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pol lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Pol can't find room to land a body shot as Loompa controls the action.
Loompa has a couple of punches blocked by Pol.
Nice body punch from Loompa - that landed with a thud.
Loompa tries to score a body lock takedown but Pol shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Loompa misses with a punch to the body.
Loompa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Pol throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Loompa gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Loompa wants to control but Pol is keeping him busy.
Loompa slips a nice elbow through Pol's hands, connecting with Pol's forehead.
Loompa trying to mount his opponent but Pol defends it.

Loompa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pol keeps working.
Loompa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pol really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Loompa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Loompa moves into full mount! Pol won't be happy about that!

Loompa swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

A relieved looking Oompa Loompa thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
