The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbarino misses with a wild combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barbarino darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barbarino lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Barbarino counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Willie is on top in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barbarino connects with a nice short shot to Willie's temple.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Barbarino lands a nice short elbow.
Willie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barbarino's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barbarino's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Barbarino is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Willie gets his way!

Willie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barbarino stacks Willie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barbarino!
