Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Westwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ari WW!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westwood is looking to clinch but WW is avoiding it.
Westwood looks to score with a jab to the body but WW is just out of range.
Nice defenses there by WW.

WW tries to keep at a distance but Westwood has taken the fight into the clinch.
Westwood prevents a takedown attempt there.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
WW changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Westwood fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Westwood clinches.

Westwood gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from WW.

WW keeps control of Westwood as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
WW tries to pull guard but Westwood holds him up against the cage and eventually WW drops back down to his feet.

Westwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Westwood tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. WW manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Westwood shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with WW but WW pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Westwood has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
WW is looking to sweep but instead, Westwood has passed into half guard.
Westwood thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

WW slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

WW pushes Westwood off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Westwood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The fight stays on the outside here - Westwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

WW looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

WW is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
WW wants to take a breather but Westwood is having none of it.
WW throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Andy Westwood will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

WW lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Westwood.
Westwood staying busy and making it hard for WW to control.
WW is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

WW is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Westwood knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Westwood for a finish.

WW keeps control of the position as Westwood tries to break free.
WW is trying to stick to Westwood's back but Westwood is turning into WW. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in WW's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Westwood.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


WW uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Westwood.
WW moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
WW fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Westwood avoids it really well and circles away.

WW changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Westwood tries to avoid it but WW manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Westwood to the ground. Westwood escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
WW shoots in and drives through. Westwood sprawls well.

WW is trying to drag Westwood to the mat but Westwood just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Westwood has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. WW is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Westwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Westwood shoots in for a double leg but WW sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

WW blocks a head kick by Westwood.
Westwood shoots in looking for a takedown but WW manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Westwood's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Westwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Westwood, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
