Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Michaels, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Michaels against the cage but Michaels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Michaels is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Jackson throws a right and a left that Michaels avoids nicely.

Michaels closes the distance and clinches.

Jackson breaks the clinch.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Michaels pushes him off.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Michaels as he avoids it easily.

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Michaels fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Michaels is striking from the bottom but Jackson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Well, if Jackson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Michaels is pressing down on Jackson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Michaels is retaining full guard.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jackson tries to stand but Michaels is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Jackson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Michaels to get to his feet.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Michaels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Michael Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jackson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Michaels at a distance.
Jackson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Michaels makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Jack Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Michaels wants to clinch but Jackson slips to the side
and Jackson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Michaels really felt that one!

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jackson connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Michaels tumbling to the canvas! Jackson pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Michaels was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michael Jackson!
