Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coalman Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coalman Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Miller!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Miller throws a strike but Gracie rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gracie throws an elbow that misses. Miller uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gracie's guard. Nice move by Miller!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Miller content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Miller distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
Gracie is looking to stand up but Miller isn't so interested in that idea.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miller's guard.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard.
Gracie trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie is in close to Miller's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gracie trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Miller looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Miller looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Miller!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Miller in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Gracie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Gracie lands strikes from half guard.
Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gracie missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Miller defends it well.
Gracie is trying to control. Miller wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Miller is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gracie throwing shots but Miller is blocking nicely.
Gracie wants to control but Miller is keeping him busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Coalman Gracie.
Miller misses with a takedown attempt
and Gracie counters with a good low kick that Miller was not able to check.
Miller stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gracie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coalman Gracie dominated that round.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Miller tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Miller closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Coalman Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Miller.

Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Miller working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie.

Gracie is in close to Miller's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gracie lands a couple of digs.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Miller keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Coalman Gracie just wasn't active enough.
Miller throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
James Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Miller shoots and misses
and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Miller gets a takedown into half guard.
Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miller!
Gracie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Miller hang on?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie lands a heavy elbow.


Miller is rocked!
Gracie lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Miller! Gracie sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Miller and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Coalman Gracie!
Coalman Gracie spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
