The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez shoots for a takedown but Laid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vasquez throws a hook to the side of Laid's head but Laid sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vasquez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Laid counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Laid thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vasquez's head.
Laid is nestled in close to Vasquez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
