The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stanton was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Stanton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Stanton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jones advances to half guard.

Jones is working for a kimura but Stanton is defending it quite comfortably.
Jones moves nicely into side control.

Stanton parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stanton to escape.

Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Stanton is defending well.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Stanton pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones stands up.
Stanton throws a combination that misses

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanton keeps working.

Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Stanton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Stanton is defending well.

Jones decides to return to a standing position.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stanton sees it coming and defends easily.
Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jones is working for a submission of some sort.
Stanton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones escapes and gets back to his feet.

Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stanton was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.

Stanton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Stanton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Jones advances nicely into full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Stanton tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stanton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stanton on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stanton circles away.
Jones throws the left hand but Stanton avoids the punch easily.
Stanton shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stanton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jones misses with a low kick.
Jones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Stanton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stanton as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stanton throws a combination that misses

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Stanton fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones passes Stanton's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Jones maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Stanton could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jones has cracked it and Stanton is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jones!
