The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCrae jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shula lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Shula looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

McCrae is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McCrae has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shula can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shula trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shula trying to control but McCrae is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCrae looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McCrae keeping moving, preventing Shula from controlling successfully.
Shula wants to stand but McCrae has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

We're going to have a standup here because Mort Shula wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
McCrae swings for the body but Shula moves out of range.
Shula with a lazy takedown attempt
and McCrae counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shula thinking.
McCrae throws a hook but Shula blocks it.

Shula throws a series of strikes that have McCrae backpedaling.

Shula manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McCrae on his heels. He'll look to pass McCrae's guard now, I'm sure.

Shula is posturing up here but McCrae has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Shula tries to roll out but it's too tight and Shula has to tap! Slick submission there by McCrae!
