Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jhogo Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ko comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Khaled - All I do is win. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jhogo Ko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Hunt.
Hunt lands a leg kick that knocks Ko off balance momentarily.
Hunt tries a head kick but it misses.
Hunt blocks a jab.
Hunt throws a leg kick which misses Ko's front leg but catches the back leg as Ko tries to avoid it.
Ko throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Mike Hunt has been cut.
Hunt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Ko scores with a takedown into Hunt's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt wants to stand but Ko is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ko drops back looking for a leg! Hunt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunt manages to kick Ko off! Ko jumps back into Hunt's guard.
Hunt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ko is pushing down on Hunt's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hunt is fighting to maintain full guard but Ko has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hunt is staying active underneath Ko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hunt is looking to escape.
Hunt is refusing to be controlled, as Ko sits in half guard.

Ko wants to work for an arm triangle but Hunt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunt pushes Ko off looking to stand but Ko dives back in and keeps control.

Ko seems to be working for a kimura but Hunt defends the submission attempt.

Ko is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hunt has managed to free his arm - good work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ko trying to mount his opponent but Hunt defends it.

Ko is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunt is just riding it out for now. Ko eventually gives up the hold.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ko working over Hunt with some ground and pound. Hunt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ko is looking to take a break and control but Hunt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ko.

Hunt is defending against the submission attempts here by Ko.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ko stops Hunt from getting back to his feet.
Ko is looking to pass Hunt's guard but actually Hunt recovers to full guard.
Ko wants to pass the guard but Hunt is keeping the position.
Ko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hunt manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hunt looks to score with a jab to the body but Ko is just out of range.
A head kick misses from Hunt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jhogo Ko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mike Hunt's cut.
That's time! Ko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ko closes the distance and clinches up with Hunt, looking for a takedown. Ko pushes Hunt against the cage but Hunt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ko throws a hook but Hunt avoids it easily.

Ko gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hunt with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Ko takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ko is trying to pull guard but Hunt has him pressed against the cage.
Ko wants to break the clinch but can't.

Hunt manages to break the clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ko.
Hunt ducks under a wild hook from Ko.
Hunt swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ko connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hunt throws a right and a left that Ko avoids nicely.
Hunt misses with a kick to the body.

Hunt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunt can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ko stands and throws Hunt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Ko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hunt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ko is controlling him well.

Ko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ko misses with the ground and pound.

Ko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hunt is trying to escape and Ko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hunt is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ko! Very nice indeed!
