Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, RR Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rivera was well out of range. Poor timing from Ryan.
Rivera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryan's waist but Ryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rivera off to one side.
Rivera fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ryan is looking to chop away at Rivera's legs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rivera is defended easily by Ryan.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ryan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Rivera is able to avoid easily.
Ryan shoots for a takedown but Rivera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ryan slaps away a takedown attempt from Rivera, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rivera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rivera shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rivera shoots and misses

and Ryan moves into the clinch.
Rivera is trying to pull guard but Ryan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ryan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan scores with a jab. Rivera acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ryan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


Rivera is rocked!

Ryan closes the distance looking for a takedown. Rivera stuffs it but Ryan still has hold of him. Ryan picks Rivera up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Ryan slams Rivera to the floor and that's really hurt Rivera - he doesn't know where he is! Ryan throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). RR Ryan!
