Connely leaves Chimpo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chimpo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Connely fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chimpo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chimpo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Connely is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chimpo.

Connely wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chimpo, who protects the arm well.
