PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between mr pink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Dront (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dront tries to close the distance and clinch but pink swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

pink drives through and clinches with Dront against the cage.
Dront pressing his opponent against the cage.
Dront is looking to break free of the clinch but pink has double underhooks.
pink has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dront avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dront is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dront scores with a hook to the body.
Dront wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
pink changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dront fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dront has taken the fight to the clinch.
pink prevents Dront from breaking the clinch.
pink has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dront is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

A right hook to the body lands for Dront.
Dront wants to get back to striking at distance but pink won't allow it.

Dront lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Dront is pressed up against the cage. pink has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dront down to the mat. Dront avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

pink wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dront keeps working.
pink throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Dront prevents pink from improving position.

Dront is pushing pink's head away, looking to escape. pink manages to hold on to the position though.
pink connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dront some visible discomfort.
pink has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dront!
pink can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dront is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dront is bucking up trying to escape but pink cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

pink wants to take his opponent's back but Dront doesn't allow it.

pink has hold of Dront's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dront manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

pink trying to control but he's not successful this time.
pink fails to take his opponent's back.

Dront defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from pink.
pink pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
pink takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
pink scores with a couple of good head shots there.
pink connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
pink landing strikes from the mount.
pink unloading with bombs!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dront is squirming around, avoiding pink's attempts to control the action.
Dront keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

pink postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
pink won't allow Dront to get back to his feet.
pink is in close to Dront's body, working some short punches and elbows.
pink sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dront's guard.
