Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mink's entrance music is Macho Man. A fine choice. Stewart has chosen Frightened Rabbit - The Twist as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Archie Stewart was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Mink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Archie Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mink wants to clinch but Stewart slips to the side

and Stewart holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mink misses with a punch on the inside.
Stewart misses with a short punch on the inside.
Stewart is pushing Mink up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Stewart tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Stewart tries to throw a body punch but Mink avoids it by throwing Stewart back against the cage.
Mink misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Stewart looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Nice body punch from Stewart.
Stewart misses with a hook to the ribs.
A short right from Mink on the inside.
Stewart creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Mink avoids the elbow strike from Stewart, against the cage.
Stewart tries to pull guard but Mink holds him up against the cage and eventually Stewart drops back down to his feet.
Mink tries to work over Stewart's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mink swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Stewart is working for takedown but Mink is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mink cracks Stewart with a nice body shot.

Mink misses with some punches.

Mink's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A jab from Stewart misses.
Mink throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stewart throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Stewart tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mink is able to avoid easily.
Mink looks to score with a jab to the body but Stewart is just out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stewart looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mink tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Stewart counters with a nice uppercut.

Mink is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mink paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mink tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stewart paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mink fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stewart manages to avoid it.
Mink leaves Stewart with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mike Mink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Archie Stewart.
Mink tries to clinch but Stewart moves out of range.
A thudding body kick lands there by Stewart!
Mike Mink is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mink scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Stewart throws a head kick that Mink semi-blocks.

Mink moves into range and clinches up with Stewart.

Stewart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stewart has Mink pulled in close to control his posture.
Mink has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stewart had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mink defends it easily.
Stewart not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stewart is looking for a triangle but Mink pushes his legs off easily.
Stewart utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Stewart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stewart wants to sweep here but Mink controlling him for the moment.
Mink stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mink working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Stewart looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Stewart has his foot on Mink's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mink works his way back into a safe position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stewart looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mink passes into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stewart gets full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Archie Stewart dominated that round.

That's time! Mink's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mink tries to work over Stewart's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mink tries to throw a body punch but Stewart avoids it by throwing Mink back against the cage.
Mink lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Stewart throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Mink's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stewart tries to land a front kick but Mink steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Mink pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stewart back to the cage. Mink follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stewart motions for Mink to come forward. Stewart throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Stewart tries to throw a body punch but Mink avoids it by throwing Stewart back against the cage.
Stewart doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stewart misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mink.
Stewart has Mink pressed against the cage, preventing Mink from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stewart is looking to control Mink's arms but Mink gets an underhook and turns him. Now Stewart has his back to the cage.
Stewart is looking for a takedown.

Mink breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mink.
Mink's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mink duly obliges.

Mink tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stewart paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mink lands with an uppercut that bounces Stewart off the cage and back into range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mink feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stewarts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Stewart counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Mink tries to clinch there but Stewart circles away.
Mink misses with a double jab.
Stewart moves in looking to clinch but Mink pushes him off.

and Stewart counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mink's knee momentarily.
Stewart takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Stewart fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mink scores with a jab to the head.
Stewart is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mink.
Good exchange - Mink coming out on top.

Mink lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Stewart sprawling to the canvas. Mink follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Stewart hang on?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stewart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mink doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mink manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mink postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mink throws an elbow that misses. Stewart uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mink's guard. Nice move by Stewart!

Stewart wants to control but Mink is keeping him busy.
Mink is trying to improve his position.
Stewart tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mink's legs.
Stewart scores with punches from side control.

Stewart wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mink, who protects the arm well.
Stewart scores with a couple of short elbows.
Stewart cracks Mink with a big elbow.

Stewart has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mink is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Stewart yanks on the arm and Mink is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Stewart.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Archie Stewart!
