And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Leno!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cass is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Leno's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cass throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Leno looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cass knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leno on the ground.
Leno has his hands clasped together around Cass's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Leno manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Leno manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Leno is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cass has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cass!

Cass throws a strike but Leno rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cass utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Leno thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leno postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Leno slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cass tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Leno easily slips into full mount!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cass has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Leno has managed to slip his arm under Cass's chin. This could be all over... yep, Cass is tapping out! Submission win for Leno.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Steven Leno!
A relieved looking Steven Leno thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
