Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Canas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Shady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canas comes to the cage accompanied by DMX-Stop Being Greedy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shady closes this distance looking for a takedown but Canas circles away.
Shady fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Horrible takedown by Shady or perhaps it was just good defense by Canas which made him look bad.

Canas wants to stand but Shady has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Shady escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Canas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Canas won't allow Shady to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shady has a closed guard, preventing Canas from standing up.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shady is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Canas is aware though and is defending well.
Shady is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Canas defends well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
