Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Schreiber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitri Kasavanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dimitri Kasavanov!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasavanov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Schreiber.
Schreiber leaves Kasavanov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Schreiber takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Schreiber takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Kasavanov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kasavanov shoots for a takedown but Schreiber saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Phillip Schreiber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimitri Kasavanov.

and Kasavanov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Schreiber thinking.

Schreiber looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kasavanov wants to improve his position but Schreiber is controlling well.
Schreiber is looking to take a break and control but Kasavanov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schreiber has control of Kasavanov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kasavanov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schreiber throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kasavanov tries to hold on but Schreiber postures up.

Kasavanov looks to score with a jab to the body but Schreiber is just out of range.

Schreiber looks to land a combination but Kasavanov avoids it well.

Kasavanov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Schreiber!

Schreiber tries to reverse the position but Kasavanov maintains control.
Kasavanov cracks Schreiber with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kasavanov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Schreiber has worked his arm free - good work by Schreiber!
Schreiber seems to have got his legs back now.
Schreiber tries to buck Kasavanov off but Kasavanov is having none of it.
Kasavanov in side control lands a decent elbow.

Kasavanov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Schreiber some visible discomfort.

Schreiber has hold of Kasavanov's hands but Kasavanov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
