PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gordie Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronan Hollace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hollace has chosen Outside by Staind as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gordie Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronan Hollace!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hollace is looking to chop away at Green's legs.
Green lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hollace's sensitive parts.
A jab from Green finds it's way through Hollace's defenses.

Green gets a double leg takedown into Hollace's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hollace has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Green has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Green escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hollace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hollace is looking to work some ground and pound but Green has wrist control.
Hollace throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Green works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hollace postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hollace must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Green lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Hollace throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Green buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
