The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ctvrtlik stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ctvrtlik wants it to stay on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tavares in particular looking to stall.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ricky Tavares hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tavares avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Tavares lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Ctvrtlik doesn't manage to clinch there - Tavares circles away.
Ctvrtlik closes the distance and clinches up with Tavares, looking for a takedown. Ctvrtlik pushes Tavares against the cage but Tavares circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ctvrtlik shoots in and drives through. Tavares sprawls well.
Tavares shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ctvrtlik sprawls well. Ctvrtlik wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tavares gets slowly back to his feet.

and Tavares counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Tavares looks at the referee who does nothing so Tavares lands a crushing right that sends Ctvrtlik to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
