Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernardo Carpio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Peiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fedor Peiser!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpio chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Peiser drops Carpio with a beautiful combination! Carpio stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Peiser is looking for the KO!


It looks like Bernardo Carpio has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carpio throws a head kick but Peiser moves out of range.

Peiser closes the distance and pushes Carpio back into the cage.
Peiser blocks an elbow strike from Carpio.
Peiser avoids a wild elbow strike from Carpio.
Carpio misses with an elbow over the top.

Peiser lands with a short shot to the head.


Bernardo Carpio's cut is getting worse.

Peiser jumps guard and drags Carpio to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Peiser tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Peiser pulls Carpio in close to his closed guard and prevents Carpio from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peiser keeping full guard, as Carpio tries to pass.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fedor Peiser was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Carpio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carpio just misses with a elbow thrown towards Peiser's brow.

Peiser successfully pulls guard.

Peiser has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carpio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Peiser pulls Carpio in to control the position.

Carpio avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Peiser has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Carpio trying to stand up but can't free himself from Peiser's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Carpio turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Peiser circles away from the clinch attempt.

Peiser rushes Carpio and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Carpio pushes off an throws an elbow but Peiser leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Peiser is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carpio gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Peiser stalls.
Peiser avoids the elbow strike from Carpio, against the cage.
Carpio pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Carpio misses with an elbow over the top.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carpio just misses with a elbow thrown towards Peiser's brow.
The referee is keeping an eye on Peiser - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Carpio has Peiser pressed against the cage, preventing Peiser from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Carpio throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Peiser takes an elbow to the temple.
Peiser has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carpio is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Peiser avoids a wild elbow strike from Carpio.

Peiser manages to break the clinch.
A bone on bone clash there as Peiser blocks the leg kick.
Carpio lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Carpio wants to clinch.
Bernardo Carpio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carpio throws a low kick but Peiser avoids it.
Peiser checks the leg kick nicely there.
Carpio tries to close the distance and clinch but Peiser swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Carpio lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Peiser has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Peiser and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carpio looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Carpio tries a low kick but Peiser avoids it.
Carpio looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Carpio tries to clinch up.
Peiser throws a series of punches but Carpio avoids them all with ease.
Some bone on bone action there as Peiser checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bernardo Carpio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carpio throws a leg kick but Peiser sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Peiser should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Carpio is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Peiser.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carpio tries to score with a low kick but Peiser moves his leg out of the way.

Carpio tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Peiser shoots in for a takedown but Carpio shows good takedown defense.

Peiser sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

An inside leg kick lands from Carpio.
Carpio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peiser paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Peiser dives in and scores a takedown into Carpio's guard.
Peiser is breathing heavily.
Peiser is stalling in the full guard.
Peiser throwing strikes from guard but Carpio blocks nicely.

Peiser decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Carpio tries to sprawl but Peiser drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carpio is looking for a sweep. Peiser is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Peiser takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Peiser wants to free his trapped foot but Carpio is holding on for dear life with his legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peiser perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fedor Peiser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Peiser moves out of range of the body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carpio enables Peiser to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carpio manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Peiser throws a big right hand that misses.
Carpio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peiser on the ground.
Peiser passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Peiser works to advance to full mount. Carpio defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Carpio avoids a series of strikes thrown by Peiser.
Peiser controlling his opponent.
Let's hope that Peiser has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Peiser breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Peiser tries to clinch up but Carpio circles away and keeps his distance.

Peiser has closed the distance and engaged Carpio in a clinch.
Peiser blocks the elbow strike.
Carpio on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Peiser has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Carpio is trying to keep an underhook but Peiser manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Peiser stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Carpio to get to his feet.
Carpio is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Carpio takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Peiser connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carpio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peiser paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Peiser looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Peiser performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fedor Peiser was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Peiser thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Carpio if he has to take too many more of those.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peiser goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Fedor Peiser is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Fedor Peiser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Peiser throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carpio tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Peiser is in Carpio's guard.
Peiser slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Fedor Peiser comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Peiser has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
