Nice takedown defense from Pudzianowski. No joy for Vex on that attempt.

and Pudzianowski counters with a right hand that sends Vex tumbling to the canvas! Can Pudzianowski finish him? He dives into Vex's guard looking to do just that!

It looks like Vladimir Vex has been cut.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vex is on top in guard.
Vex postures up in Pudzianowski's guard and throws a big left but Pudzianowski blocks it.

Pudzianowski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vex is aware though and is defending well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vex's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Vex connects with a couple of short punches.
Pudzianowski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vex on the ground.

Pudzianowski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Vex lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Vex has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
