Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gary Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Richmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Gary Bowman has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Bowman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Richmond!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richmond misses with a combination
and Bowman counters with a left and a right that stings Richmond.
Bowman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Richmond as he jumps to the side.

Richmond scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Bowman is looking to reverse the position.
Richmond taking a breather here.
Bowman tries to improve position but can't.
Bowman is breathing heavily.
Richmond controls the position.
Bowman stops Richmond from passing to mount.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Bowman pushes Richmond away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Richmond gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Richmond in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Richmond is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Richmond's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Richmond wasn't active enough on the ground.

Horrible takedown by Richmond or perhaps it was just good defense by Bowman which made him look bad.

Bowman closes the distance and clinches up with Richmond, looking for a takedown. Bowman pushes Richmond against the cage but Richmond circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Adam Richmond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Richmond feints a jab promting Bowman to slip. Richmond then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bowman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Bowman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Richmond pinned against the cage. Richmond gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Richmond throws a head kick that misses.
Bowman fails with the takedown

and Richmond counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Still in half guard, Richmond seems content to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Adam Richmond has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A punch combination from Richmond misses.
Richmond shoots in looking for a takedown. Bowman tries to sprawl out of it but Richmond keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bowman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Richmond is looking to take a break and control but Bowman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Richmond wants to free his trapped foot but Bowman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Adam Richmond comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Richmond has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
