Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Valdivia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonis Pap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nicolas Valdivia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonis Pap!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdivia looks for a takedown but Pap sprawls well.

Valdivia instigates a clinch.
Pap tries to break the clinch but Valdivia is controlling the position.
Valdivia is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Pap pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Pap drives through and clinches with Valdivia against the cage.
Pap wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Valdivia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pap tries to sprawl but Valdivia drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Valdivia works his foot free and advances to mount.
Valdivia looking to control and managing it successfully.
Pap looks gassed!

Valdivia is landing with some decent strikes but Pap is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Valdivia thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Valdivia controlling from the full mount.
Valdivia throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Valdivia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Valdivia postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pap looks a forlorn figure.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valdivia won't let Pap get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Valdivia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pap sprawls well initially but Valdivia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Valdivia is looking to advance position but Pap won't allow it.
Well, if Valdivia is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Valdivia stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Pap stuffs the takedown attempt from Valdivia. Valdivia gets slowly back to his feet.
Pap is breathing heavily.

Valdivia shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Nicolas Valdivia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Valdivia decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Valdivia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pap is fending him off so far but Valdivia persists. Nope, Pap circles away and we're back to standing.
Valdivia shoots in but no luck this time.

Antonis Pap is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Valdivia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pap avoids it really well and circles away.
Pap throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Valdivia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Pap pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nicolas Valdivia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valdivia swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pap gets tackled into the cage by Valdivia. Valdivia maintains the clinch.
Valdivia tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pap just stands there and leans against the cage.
Valdivia tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pap's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Valdivia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pap has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Valdivia scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pap in his tracks.
Valdivia shoots in looking for a takedown but Pap manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valdivia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Valdivia doesn't manage to clinch there - Pap circles away.
Valdivia is looking to clinch.
Valdivia tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Pap counters with a big head kick but Valdivia shrugs it off.
Valdivia throws a hook but Pap blocks it.
Pap lands a two punch combo.
Valdivia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pap tries to avoid it but Valdivia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pap to the ground. Pap escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pap throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valdivia.

Valdivia lands with a shot to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Valdivia tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Valdivia shoots in but Pap avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Valdivia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Valdivia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Valdivia has taken the fight to the clinch.
Valdivia is pushing Pap up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Pap has had enough of the clinch but Valdivia keeps him there for the moment.

Valdivia lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Valdivia is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pap gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Valdivia successfully pulls guard.
Valdivia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pap is controlling him.
Pap wanted to stand there but Valdivia had control of the position.
Valdivia lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pap!

Valdivia connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Valdivia has control of Pap's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pap regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valdivia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Valdivia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
