Goodman comes into the arena with lady Gaga blaring out of the sound system. Pacquiao has chosen Sometimes when we Fight as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Floyd Pacquiao is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clarence Goodman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Floyd Pacquiao!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Goodman takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd cheers as Goodman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pacquiao doesn't seem phased though.
Goodman ducks under a wild hook from Pacquiao.
Goodman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pacquiao.
Pacquiao uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Goodman.
Clarence Goodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goodman throws a leg kick but Pacquiao checks it.
Goodman throws a right hand that Pacquiao ducks under and follows up with a left that Pacquiao also avoids with ease.

Pacquiao closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Goodman quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pacquiao is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Goodman defends it well.
Pacquiao not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Pacquiao seems to be working for a kimura but Goodman defends the submission attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Goodman is staying active underneath Pacquiao, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Goodman is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Pacquiao trying to control the pace.
Pacquiao trying to control the action but Goodman is working from the bottom.
Pacquiao tries to pass the half guard into mount. Goodman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Pacquiao has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Pacquiao looking for a guillotine from mount but Goodman is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pacquiao has control of Goodman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Goodman regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pacquiao lands with some strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pacquiao with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Pacquiao looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pacquiao takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pacquiao working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Pacquiao prevents Goodman from getting the reversal.
Pacquiao wants to control the pace but Goodman is squirming around nicely.

Pacquiao is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Goodman is surviving well by controlling Pacquiao's body position as best he can.
Goodman wants to control but Pacquiao is having none of it.
Goodman is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pacquiao with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Pacquiao wants to control the pace but Goodman is squirming around nicely.
Goodman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Pacquiao breaks from Goodman's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pacquiao jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Goodman manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Pacquiao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goodman keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pacquiao is working to tighten is grip on Goodman's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Goodman has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Pacquiao is really squeezing tight and eventually Goodman passes out! Pacquiao breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Floyd Pacquiao!
In his post fight interview, Floyd Pacquiao started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
