PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Decon Starian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and God Devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Starian comes to the cage accompanied by I need a hero. God Devil told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devil lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nice defenses there by Starian.
Devil drops his hands momentarily and Starian takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Devil throws a lazy right hand but Starian sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Starian throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Starian shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Devil takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Devil got a little sloppy there for a moment and Starian has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Devil has managed to get both his arms back between Starian's legs - danger averted.

OK we're going to have a standup here. God Devil hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Starian fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Devil manages to avoid it.

Devil on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Starian counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Horrible takedown by Devil or perhaps it was just good defense by Starian which made him look bad.

God Devil showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Starian is on top in guard.

Devil escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Devil shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Starian counters with a nice low kick that buckles Devil's knee momentarily.
God Devil is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Starian looks for the body kick but Devil saw that one coming.
Starian throws a hook to the side of Devil's head but Devil sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Starian thuds his shin into the meat of Devil's side.
Devil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Starian defends it nicely.
Starian throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Devil stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

And that's the end of the fight!
Decon Starian showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Devil has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
