Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Deep!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kip Epps!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Epps lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Deep bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Epps misses with a hook
and Deep counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Deep fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Epps looks to score with a jab to the body but Deep is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Deep or perhaps it was just good defense by Epps which made him look bad.
Epps misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Deep.
Epps jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Deep uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Epps.
A jab from Epps finds it's way through Deep's defenses.
Kip Epps seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Epps misses the target.
Epps scores with a jab to the body.
Epps slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Epps rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Deep counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Deep drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deep jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Epps controls Deep momentarily but Deep frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deep is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Deep advances to half guard.

Deep in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Epps tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Deep!
