The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Banks was well out of range. Poor timing from Hewson.

and Banks counters with a left and a right that stings Hewson.

Hewson tries to bum rush Banks with a series of wild strikes but Banks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Banks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hewson.

Banks darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Banks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hewson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Banks.
Hewson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Banks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Banks's back!
Banks tries to escape but Hewson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Banks is looking for a kimura but Hewson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Banks to get the leverage.
