The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akiyama fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lannister, pushing him back against the ropes.
Lannister wants a takedown but no success here.
Akiyama changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lannister fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Horrible takedown by Akiyama or perhaps it was just good defense by Lannister which made him look bad.

and Lannister counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Akiyama's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikito Akiyama. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Akiyama has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lannister doesn't defend quickly enough and Akiyama has managed to lock this one up! Can Lannister escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Akiyama on a fantastic submission victory.
