Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marti Pico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Meat Shield!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shield lands a slapping body shot.
Pico takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A shot to the liver by Shield. Beautiful body shot.
Pico shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pico has his takedown stuffed
and Shield counters with a one-two to the body.
A left and a right from Shield both land. Nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shield lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Shield moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Shield walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pico checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Shield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shield connects with a looping right hand.
Shield lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pico circles away quickly and effectively.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Shield!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shield throws a chopping leg kick but Pico manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Pico gets the takedown into side control.
Shield is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Pico is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shield has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shield wants to control but Pico postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shield tries to improve position but can't.

Pico has hold of Shield's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Shield tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pico cranks the arm and Shield screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Shield, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Marti Pico!
