PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lars Lynix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davison has chosen Nowhere to run as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lars Lynix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Davison!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davison shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lynix sprawls well. Lynix wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davison gets slowly back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Davison looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lynix feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Davisons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lynix looks to land a combination. Davison sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Davison on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lynix is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A jab from Lynix finds it's way through Davison's defenses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lynix throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lynix bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davison's head.
Lynix is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Davison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lynix swivels and escapes.
Lars Lynix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Davison.
Davison lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lynix circles away quickly and effectively.
Lynix lands with an overhand left.
Davison takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Davison drops his hands momentarily and Lynix takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Lynix lands with an overhand left.

A punch lands to the side of Davison 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Davison looks to land a combination but Lynix avoids it well.

The fighters circle momentarily. Lynix darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Lynix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Lars Lynix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Davison looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lynix is fending him off so far but Davison persists. Nope, Lynix circles away and we're back to standing.
Lynix showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davison.
Davison is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lynix is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Davison.
Davison walks into a left hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lynix cracks Davison with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lynix is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Davison has gone for a leg lock! Lynix slips out almost immediately though and dives into Davison's guard.
Lynix trying to control the position from guard on top but Davison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lynix would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Davison keeping moving, preventing Lynix from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davison is on top in guard.

Davison is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lynix is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lynix has escaped and now he's on top!

Davison has his foot on Lynix's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lynix works his way back into a safe position though.
Lynix won't allow Davison to sweep him here.
Lynix will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Davison had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lynix defends it easily.
Lynix wants to control from the top but Davison keeps moving.

Davison is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lynix wants to pass the guard but Davison is keeping the position.
Lynix has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davison is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Davison drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lynix dives on top into guard.

Lynix is sitting in close to Davison's body. Davison has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lynix is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lynix is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Davison.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Joe Davison!
A very excited looking Joe Davison made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
