PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Skinny Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Blanchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Blanchard's choice of entrance music: "Bull's on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blanchard tries to avoid it but Boy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blanchard to the ground. Blanchard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Boy clinches up with Blanchard and pushes him back against the cage.
Blanchard throws a knee to the head but misses.

Blanchard breaks the clinch.
Boy wants to clinch up but Blanchard keeps it at a distance.
Boy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blanchard swivels and escapes.

Blanchard gets a clinch.
Blanchard lands a right hand.
Blanchard is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Boy avoiding damage as Blanchard throws knees to the body.
Blanchard is pressed up against the cage. Boy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blanchard down to the mat. Blanchard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Boy throws the left hand but Blanchard avoids the punch easily.
Boy shoots in looking for a takedown. Blanchard tries to sprawl out of it but Boy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Blanchard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Boy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blanchard is fending him off so far but Boy persists. Nope, Blanchard circles away and we're back to standing.

Boy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blanchard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Boy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Blanchard is now in Boy's guard. A big mistake from Boy there, giving up the dominant position!

Boy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blanchard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Boy had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blanchard is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Boy Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blanchard's back instead.

Blanchard gets caught flat footed, as Boy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Boy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blanchard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blanchard is just riding it out for now. Boy eventually gives up the hold.
