PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Stull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Bross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stull kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Numb/Encore by Linkin Park & Jay-Z. Bross is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gangstarr - Who Got Gunz. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Stull!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bross throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Stull misses with an uppercut.
Bross lands a nice shot to the body.
Stull lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Dan Bross has been cut.
Stull ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bross moves away.
Stull closes the distance and clinches up with Bross, looking for a takedown. Stull pushes Bross against the cage but Bross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stull throws a leg kick but Bross moved away.

Stull scores a takedown into full mount!
Bross wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stull.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bross regains half guard.
Bross blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stull.

Bross is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Stull pulls his head out easily.
Stull tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bross.
Stull perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bross works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stull wanted to stand there but Bross had control of the position.

Stull stands up from Bross's guard - Stull perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stull throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stull is breathing heavily.
Stull misses with a jab to the body
and Bross counters with an outside leg kick.
Stull swings away with a body shot that misses
and Bross cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bross works Stull's body with a nice hook.
Stull walks into a straight right hand from Bross.
Stull tries a head kick but it misses.
Bross lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Bross uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stull.

Stull tries to keep at a distance but Bross has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bross landing knees to the head.

It looks like Andrew Stull has been cut.
Bross with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bross crunches a lovely knee into Stull's ribcage.
Bross tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Stull tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bross just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bross misses with a knee to the head.
Stull drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bross pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Stull. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bross pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stull tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stull doesn't manage to clinch there - Bross circles away.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Stull! Bross is out on his feet! Stull rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Bross is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Bross is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
