PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Andreas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Askren!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Askren closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Andreas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Askren is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Andreas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Askren tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Askren creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Askren has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Askren is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Andreas has escaped the position, nice work there.
Askren is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Andreas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Askren wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Askren working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Askren passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Andreas!
Andreas can't escape the position.

Askren unloading with bombs!
Andreas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Andreas is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Askren lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Andreas is rocked!

It looks like Daniel Andreas has been cut.

Askren wants to finish this one by submission but Andreas is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Askren.
Askren putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Oh Andreas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Andreas working to try and regain half guard.

Andreas has left one of his arms exposed and Askren doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Andreas screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

A very excited looking Ben Askren rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
