The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Tyler. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Jaa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tyler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jaa leaves Tyler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tyler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jaa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tyler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jaa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jaa pushes Tyler away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tyler gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Tyler looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lee Tyler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
