Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neho Kipei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Atlas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atlas has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Neho Kipei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neho Kipei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Atlas!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atlas slaps away a takedown attempt from Kipei, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kipei tries to score a power double leg takedown but Atlas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kipei somewhat.

Kipei tries to keep at a distance but Atlas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Atlas can't get the takedown.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neho Kipei. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Atlas has had enough of the clinch but Kipei keeps him there for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kipei throws a strike but Atlas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kipei knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Atlas on the ground.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Atlas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kipei shoots for a double leg takedown but Atlas sprawls well. He's pushed Kipei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Atlas is defended easily by Kipei.
Kipei doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Atlas counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kipei's knee momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kipei closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Atlas's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kipei is breathing heavily.
Atlas trying to keep a closed guard but Kipei is proving a slippery customer.

Atlas keeping moving, preventing Kipei from controlling successfully.
Kipei wants to pass the guard but Atlas is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kipei shoots in for a takedown but Atlas shows good takedown defense.

Kipei cracks Atlas with a big right hand but Atlas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

You can see the frustration on Atlas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kipei wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atlas keeps working.

Kipei is stalling here. Atlas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kipei seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Atlas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Kipei wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kipei wants to stand and escape but Atlas is having none of it.

Kipei feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Atlas controls Kipei momentarily but Kipei frees himself.
Atlas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kipei is one step ahead there.
Kipei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Atlas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neho Kipei overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kipei is looking to work some ground and pound but Atlas has wrist control.
Kipei keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Atlas's head.
Kipei tries to free his leg and advance position but Atlas is retaining full guard.

Kipei postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Atlas looks a forlorn figure.
Kipei cracks Atlas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Neho Kipei!
Neho Kipei got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
